The following list of new features, updates and bug fixes are included in the latest Sprint 23.04 release to the FEWS NET Data Platform.

Updates

Import Humanitarian Food Assistance Values (DATA-2565)

The FDW Data Entry module’s Import Data Points submenu now includes the ability to import Humanitarian Food Assistance Values.

Searchable Fields in Customize Sidebar (DATA-2609)

The Customize sidebar of the FDE now allows users to search the dropdown fields for their preferred options, rather than having to scroll through all available options.

Content disposition headers added to GeoJSON request (DATA-2661)

Content disposition headers were added to the GeoJSON request to enable website links to open as a downloadable file, instead of opening in a webpage. This change will be found on the fews.net website.

Enable serving country outline vector tiles from FDW (DATA-2223)

Remote monitoring countries displayed on the AFIC maps now use country outlines from FDW with different width for different countries, instead of using manually created vector tiles set served from Mapbox. This change will be visible on the fews.net website.

DRC KoBo Data Ingestion Pipeline (DATA-2692)

A new pipeline has been built to ingest data from the KoBo DRC Price Form into the data platform.

Bug Fixes

Bug Fixes in the FDE

• Fixed a bug preventing users from successfully saving searches (DATA-2744)

• Corrected the behavior of filters to reset when moving between domains (DATA-2627 and DATA-2771)

• Repaired the functionality of the search bar for the Days of Work, Remittance, Demography, and Other Indicators domains by enabling the search filter for all semi-structured data series endpoints (DATA-2695)

Incorrect Data for Crop Production Metadata Endpoint (DATA-2716)

The search filter for the Crop Production metadata endpoint was not returning the correct data. This has been fixed and the search filter for the endpoint is now working correctly.

FAO Pipeline Metadata Mismatch (DATA-2721)

The FAO pipeline has been updated to address metadata mismatches occurring on several source documents collected under FAO. The pipeline is now ingesting data to the data platform normally.

Import Dependency Dashboard Components Not Loading (DATA-2775)

The Import Dependency Dashboard in FDW was not loading its components successfully. Adjustments to the Landscan population data and the process used to match country information correctly has fixed the issue.

IPC Data Series 500 Error (DATA-2736)

Accessing an IPC data series from the admin screen in FDW resulted in a 500 error when the data series was included in datasets. DataSeriesAdmin has been changed to prevent the KeyError, and the data series can now be accessed as expected.
