Overview

The FEWS NET color palette ensures a consistent look and feel. The green and orange colors have been a part of FEWS NET since the beginning. The original palette has been refreshed and expanded to inspire a look that calls to mind various elements of our analysis: crops, markets, and weather.

Accessibility

Maintaining proper color contrast ensures the FEWS NET brand is accessible as possible to all people. In the digital space, comply with WCAG 2.1 AA rating, and strive for AAA whenever possible. For more on what that means, check out the Web Accessibility Initiative.
For text, aim for the highest ratio possible. For icons or meaningful graphic elements (like non-decorative icons or navigation elements) a minimum 3:1 contrast ratio is required.

Acceptable AAA Rated Combinations

These combinations include:

  • USAID Black and White

  • Globe Green and White

  • Sky Blue and USAID Black

  • Gray 1 and USAID Black

  • Gray 2 and USAID Black

AA Rated Combinations

If the AAA combinations do not meet your needs, you can use the following. Font size must be 14pt or larger unless notes.

  • Rust and White

  • Gray 1 and Globe Green

  • Gray 1 and Globe Green

  • Sky Blue and Globe Green (text must be 18 pt or larger)

  • No labels
