Managing Metadata
Metadata is information that describes other data. In the FDW, metadata provides a structure that allows for comparison across data points, data series, and datasets.
For example, country names are metadata. FDW contains a standardized list of country names, and any data uploaded with an associated country name must match one of the names on that list or it will generate an error.
