The following list of features, updates, and bug fixes are included in the latest Sprint 24.11 release to the FEWS NET Data Platform.
New features
Update FDW to allow Data Collections to be used as an inventory of files (DATA-4189)
The FDW data model can now be used as a flexible data inventory of resources such as files or URLs. Resources can be associated with Data Collections without requiring Data Series or Data Points.
Updates
Implement a broken link check report for CKAN (DATA-2933)
The URLs for Datasets in CKAN are regularly checked and any broken links are reported.
Add TopoJSON and FDW-generated Shapefile as FDE spatial domain export options (DATA-3500)
The TopoJSON and FDW-generated Shapefile formats supported in the FDW API are now available as export options for spatial data in FDE.
More descriptive column names in FDE Data Series tables (DATA-4178)
Three columns in the Data Series table in FDE were renamed to clarify their meaning. The First, Last, and Count columns are now renamed to First collection date, Last collection date, and Data Point count.
Key Drivers Map updates
The following updates were made to the Key Drivers Map visualization:
A new layer of IOM migration data is available for selection (DATA-4115)
The time slider now indicates which period dates contain data for the selected layer (DATA-4193)
Bugs
Fix API for extracting Shapefiles for global LHZ boundaries (DATA-3874)
The global LHZ spatial boundaries could be extracted in KML and GeoJSON, but failed for Shapefiles due to a character restriction for the column names. The API can now generate a global LHZ Shapefile with column names that match the columns in the global Shapefile on the FEWS NET website.
