The following list of updates and bug fixes are included in the latest Sprint 24.07 release to the FEWS NET Data Platform.
New features
Add Market Function data for Haiti using market shapefile and road shapefile (DATA-3928)
FDW can ingest geospatial data for markets and the trade flow routes between them, as well as the classification of how well the market routes are functioning.
Updates
Add date filters to FDE IPC domains (DATA-3871)
Data can now be filtered by Start Date and End Date in the Acute Food Insecurity Classifications domain and the Acutely Food Insecure Population Estimates domain.
Add data_usage_policy filter to data series endpoints (DATA-3934)
The API can filter data series by their data_usage_policy.
Add Semi-Structured domain permissions to FDW (DATA-3884)
Permissions can automatically be added to a new Semi-Structured domain by adding individuals or groups to the Object Permissions under the Document Type.
Create Comtrade data series and ensure data are updated regularly (DATA-3825)
Created Comtrade data series for the products with the highest percent of imports for each country, enabling the pipeline to automatically upload relevant data points.
Add ImageField to the Country model to store country flag image (DATA-3782)
A new image field can store country flag images from the Country FDW admin screen.
Enable UnpublishSpatialDatasets task on GeographicUnitSetVersion delete (DATA-3768)
Deleted Geographic Unit Set Versions in FDW will be automatically unpublished in order to show only up-to-date spatial datasets in CKAN and the CMS.
Automated checks for Crop data quality (DATA-3737)
A new pipeline can conduct automated checks on data loaded to FDW, including domain-specific checks such as for Crop data.
Bugs
FDE bug fixes
Bug fixes for the FEWS NET Data Explorer were completed through the following tickets:
Consolidated the functionality of the Geographic and Market filters in the Exchange Rates domain. Markets or countries can now be selected under the Geographic filter (DATA-3909).
The Start Date and End Date filters were not being applied correctly in the extract when data series were selected individually. Data extracts now filter by date as expected (DATA-3982).
Fixed the “Updating” indicator to appear as expected in the Prices domain (DATA-3976)
Resolved the issue of filters being retained from the Exchange Rates domain to the Secondary Price Indexes, Calculated Price Ratios, and Calculated Price Indexes domains (DATA-3876).
Links to domains in the “My Top Pages” widget of the FDE home page were not working. The widget now provides working links to the expected domains (DATA-3397).
Save Data Source Document functionality on the admin screen is broken (DATA-4010)
Users could not save Data Source Documents in the FDW admin screen. The save functionality on the admin screen is now working as expected.
