The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) data template allows multiple Data Collections to be created from one upload. Acute Food Insecurity Classification (AFIC), Humanitarian Food Assistance (HFA) and Internally Displaced People (IDP) data should be entered on separate tabs in the same Excel document, with AFIC data on the first tab. Separate FDW can create separate Data Collections will be automatically created for AFIC and HFA data from the same upload.
The selected Source Document must align with the date range included in the template or data will not upload. Data collections should be uploaded one month at a time. The collection date should always be the first day of the month.

Uploading food security area classification data
To upload Food Security Area Classification data for all data sources in the FEWS NET Data Warehouse: Data Series Management > Acute Food Insecurity > Acute Food Insecurity Classifications and select Import Acute Food Insecurity Classifications.

Import acute food insecurity classifications
Food security area classification data for all data sources in FDW can be uploaded through the Data Series Management module.
From the main toolbar, select Data Series Management > Acute Food Insecurity > Acute Food Insecurity Classifications
Click Import Acute Food Insecurity Classifications.
Select the file to import and the file format.
Click Submit.
The system will check which Collection Periods currently exist in FDW and create ones which ones do not. The system will also update existing data in FDW if the file contains changes.
Reviewing and re-uploading data
To correct data that is in draft status and has not yet been published, you can either:
Delete the Data Collection and upload the corrected file, or
Upload the corrected file and FDW will edit the existing data collection to reflect the changes. Note that the date shown in the Status Changed column only refers to a change in the Data Collection Status in FDW, and not any change to the data itself.
To correct data that has been published:
Change the status to Under Review, then re-upload the file, review, and republish the data.

Deleting a Data Collection that has been published can disrupt data visualizations in reports and data nodes on the FEWS NET website. For this reason, unpublishing, re-uploading, then re-publishing the data is preferred. |
