  • Dates: Filters data series by the collection/reporting dates of all data points within the series. All data series with at least one data point collected/reported after the start date and before the end date will be returned.

    • Start date: Returns all data series containing at least one data point collected/reported after this date.

    • End date: Returns all data series containing at least one data point collected/reported before this date.

  • Geographic: Filters by country.

  • Market: Filters by the name of the actual market or the name of the the town or city where the market is located. This filter aggregates items into a multi-level lists (e.g., cities and markets are aggregated into countries, which are aggregated into regions). Selecting the higher-level item in the list will automatically select all the lower-level items in the list.

  • Exchange Rate Type: Filters by the type of exchange rate representing the point in the market system where foreign currency are traded (i.e., Government, Interbank, Secondary markets or auctions).

  • Indicators: Filters by the types of currencies used in the exchange rate calculation.

    • Domestic currency per USD:  A rate at which domestic currency is exchanged for US Dollars, typically resulting in a number greater than 1 (e.g., KES per USD).

    • Other exchange rate: An exchange rate that does not involve US Dollars (e.g., KES per ETB or EUR per KES).

    • USD per domestic currency: A rate at which US Dollars rate are exchanged for domestic currency, typically resulting in a number less than 1 (e.g., USD per KES).

  • From Currency: Filters by the “from” currency in an exchange rate. The From Currency is the currency used as the numerator when calculating the exchange rate.

  • To Currency: Filters by the “to” currency in an exchange rate. The To Currency is the currency used as the denominator when calculating the exchange rate.
